Executive Coaching in Singapore

Sustained professional growth begins with understanding the person behind the role.

Kelly Heng, executive coach and founder of The Rooted Way

Leadership is rarely limited by technical ability alone. More often, it is shaped by how you respond to uncertainty, navigate relationships, make decisions and lead with intention.

At The Rooted Way, coaching draws on more than two decades in corporate life and my training as a counsellor, to help you grow in ways that are grounded in your values, strengths and aspirations.

My approach is person-centred and carries a psychological lens, so alongside practical progress you gain a clearer understanding of yourself. That self-awareness is what allows you to lead and decide more intentionally from here on.

Whether you are investing in your own growth or your organisation is investing in you, coaching is for those who are ready to take ownership of their development and commit to meaningful change.

Coaching Philosophy

Who you become shapes how you lead.

Leadership development often focuses on building knowledge and capability. These are important, but they are only part of the picture.

Your beliefs, values, life experiences and emotional patterns influence how you make decisions, communicate, respond to pressure and relate to others. They shape not only what you do, but who you become as a leader.

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I partner with you to understand your unique context, identify your growth intentions and develop a personalised coaching strategy that builds on your strengths while addressing the barriers that may be limiting your growth.

The aim is not simply to perform more effectively, but to become a leader who leads with greater clarity, courage and intention.

Leadership grows from the inside out.

Coaching Focus Areas

Every coaching engagement is tailored to your unique circumstances, aspirations and organisational context. The following are areas where I particularly enjoy partnering with professionals.

Leading for the First Time

Stepping into your first leadership role is one of the most significant transitions in your career.

The expectations change. Success is no longer measured solely by your own performance, but by your ability to develop others, navigate relationships and create the conditions for your team to succeed.

You may find yourself learning to delegate, managing former peers, balancing competing priorities or questioning how you now create value as a leader.

Our work together will help you develop a personalised approach that supports your transition, helping you build the confidence and mindset needed to move from doing the work to leading people well.

Growing Your Professional Presence

As your career grows, so do the opportunities and expectations placed upon you.

You may be balancing career aspirations with other responsibilities, questioning your own capabilities, feeling pressure to prove yourself, or wondering how to remain true to your values while meeting the expectations of others.

These internal struggles can gradually diminish confidence, drain energy and make it harder to pursue opportunities with conviction.

In coaching, we'll work through the beliefs and patterns that may be holding you back, while developing a personalised growth strategy that reflects your strengths, values and aspirations. You'll strengthen your voice, influence with confidence and make career decisions with greater clarity and ownership.

Leading with Emotional Intelligence

Today's leaders operate in increasingly complex environments, balancing organisational demands while caring for the people they lead.

You may be navigating change, leading across cultures, managing difficult conversations, supporting colleagues through personal challenges or guiding teams through uncertainty. These moments require more than technical expertise.

Leadership with emotional intelligence is strengthened by the ability to attune to your own emotions and those of others. From that place, you are better able to respond with greater empathy and intention.

Coaching provides a space to strengthen your self-awareness, leadership presence and capacity to lead in ways that build trust and deepen the relationships around you.

Coaching or Counselling?

Although I am trained as both a coach and a counsellor, these are distinct services.

Coaching supports your personal and professional development by helping you deepen self-awareness, clarify your direction and take intentional action towards your goals.

Counselling provides therapeutic support for emotional distress, mental health concerns and healing from life's difficulties.

I believe my experience as a counsellor serves to enrich our coaching conversations while remaining within the purpose and boundaries of coaching. If counselling would better support your needs, I will discuss this with you openly.

For Organisations

Organisations thrive when leaders continue to grow, not only in capability but as people. Leadership development begins with supporting the person behind the role.

The Rooted Way partners with organisations to provide individual executive coaching that supports leadership transitions, strengthens self-awareness and develops leaders who lead with clarity, emotional steadiness and intention.

Each coaching engagement is tailored to the individual's role, organisational context and development goals, creating meaningful growth for the individual while strengthening the organisation over time.

For corporate-sponsored engagements, your employer receives no details of what you share. This protects both your privacy and the integrity of the coaching relationship.
